Celebrate 30 Years of Muskoka Brewery with the Return of Venture Fest 30 Years

30 Years In The Making

Thirty years ago, Muskoka Brewery opened its doors with a simple mission: to brew great beer inspired by the place we call home. What began on Taylor Road in the heart of Bracebridge quickly grew into a spirited local hub, where founders Gary McMullen and Kirk Evans built lasting connections with the community and helped reshape the beer scene in Muskoka. By 2012, we had outgrown that original space and moved to our current home on Muskoka Beach Road, where the aroma of brewing beer still drifts across the Muskoka pine trees today.

From those early days to now, the brewery has grown from a small, dedicated crew into a team of nearly 100 passionate beer lovers. Today, Muskoka Brewery is led by Todd Lewin and Bob MacDonald, who continue to uphold the same commitment to independence, quality, and community that sparked this journey three decades ago.

This June, that story comes full circle as we celebrate three decades of flavour, connection, and craftsmanship with the return of Venture Fest. On June 6, we’re inviting hometown supporters, cottagers, weekend adventurers, and longtime partners back to the brewery where it all began. It’s a chance to gather, raise a glass, and celebrate the people and the place that have shaped our story from day one.

Throwback Pack & One-Day Only Exclusive Brews

To mark our milestone, we’re bringing back a lineup of nostalgic smallbatch beers from our early years through our new Throwback Pack. This limitedtime release features six classic Muskoka brews from decades past, offering a true taste of our roots and the recipes that helped shape the brewery. The pack will be available exclusively at the LCBO, or you can enjoy these iconic pours on draught at Beertown locations across Ontario, where they’ll be celebrating our 30th anniversary throughout May, complete with a chance to win the Ultimate Deerhurst Getaway.

Alongside these returning favourites, you’ll also find yearround classics, seasonal releases, and refreshing vodka sodas. Every guest will enjoy the day with limitededition 30th anniversary glassware to take home as a keepsake.

Food Trucks, Music, Brewery Tours & More

Bringing all the charm of a cottage weekend, Venture Fest will ease into the relaxed pace of a classic Muskoka afternoon when doors open at noon. Live music will carry from early afternoon into the evening, inspired by the timeless sound of The Tragically Hip and the deep connection their music holds across cottage country. Throughout the day, the brewery lawn will be filled with friendly competition, from lawn games to a steinholding competition with exclusive anniversary prizes. Local food vendors will also be on-site, serving a mix of returning favourites and fresh summer offerings.

For guests looking to explore what happens behind the scenes, express brewery tours will run throughout the afternoon, offering a closer look at our brewing space and the craft behind every batch. Plus, visitors can also browse and shop our Limited-Edition 30th Anniversary merchandise throughout the celebration.

A portion of the day’s proceeds will be donated to a local charity, giving back to the community that has supported us for the past 30 years.

Join Us on June 6th

After three decades of brewing independently in the heart of Muskoka, we’re excited to celebrate this milestone with the people who’ve been with us along the way. Venture Fest brings together everything we love about this place: the drink, the music, the community, and the memories that make Muskoka truly unforgettable.

Celebrate with us on June 6 as we raise a glass to 30 years of Muskoka Brewery and look ahead to the adventures still to come.
