The Cottage Life Shows
Created to bring the pages of Cottage Life magazine to life, our consumer show portfolio includes the Spring Cottage Life Show (Toronto, est. 1994), Fall Cottage Life Show (Toronto, est. 2004), and Edmonton Cottage Life & Cabin Show (est. 2014). These shows collectively attract 60,000 visitors and 1,000 exhibiting companies each year, creating the ultimate marketplace for recreational property owners to connect with the special businesses that serve this market.
For 2018, Cottage Life is thrilled to add the Ottawa Cottage Life & Backyard Show to the family. Formerly the Ottawa Cottage and Backyard Show, the show was founded in 2001 and has grown to include more than 275 exhibitors. Bringing the Cottage Life brand to the Ottawa show is an opportunity to leverage Cottage Life’s expertise, and engage directly with cottagers and outdoor enthusiasts in eastern Ontario and western Quebec.

PAPA JOHN WITTERICK came up the same as many before him: by finding his way to the purest of blues through the music of contemporary Blues artists, and working his way back in time. John’s youth was filled with the likes of Ry Cooder, Eric Clapton, Taj Mahal, and B.B. King, who helped him to eventually discover Son House, Tampa Red, Robert Nighthawk, Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, and Johnny Winter, with whom he had the pleasure to open for in 1992.
John plays Blues from almost everywhere – Mississippi, Chicago, Memphis, St. Louis, Texas – but his favorite remains the Deep Delta songs that reflect so much of the social and political history behind the 100 years of the genre.
Papa John has gone from being the leader of an electric blues quartet & trio, to finding his stride as a long-time solo performer playing mostly in an amplified acoustic format, complete with smoky, electrified blues harp. Papa John has recorded several albums, but honestly, the best way to experience him, is to see him testify his love of the Blues, live and in person. Treat yourself to a throwback in time, a juke joint experience, and let the good times roll!
